Prof. Ge Zhang was invited to attend the “International Workshop on Space Life Science” held at Northwestern Polytechnic University to give an academic presentation.

The International Workshop on Space Life Science was held by the School of Life Science at Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) in Xi’an on September 21, 2013. During the workshop, eight international experts from six countries and international organizations, including the National Aeronauticsand Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA), wereinvited to give lectures in the workshop.


Prof. Ge Zhang, the Deputy Director ofInstitute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases(TMBJ), was invited to attend the “International Workshop on Space LifeScience” to give an academic presentation on “Aptamer-functionalized Lipid Nanoparticle Targeting Osteoblast for RNA Interference-based Bone Anabolic Strategy”. Prof. Zhang was invited to discuss with Prof. Airong Qian, thedeputy Dean of School of Life Science in NPU on the progress of the jointresearch project “The role of MACF1 and its natural antisense transcript in theeffects of simulated weightlessness on pre-osteoblast migration” after theworkshop. Dr. Baosheng GUO, the Post-doctoral Research Fellow of TMBJ,discussed with Dr. Yulong Sun, Post-doctoral Fellow of School of Life Science in NPU about the further research schedule on the joint research project.
