The SCM and TMBJ invited Prof. Peng Shang to visit TMBJ at HKBU and give a speech titled with “The development and perspective in space life science research in China” on August 24th, 2013.

Prof.Peng Shang, Dean of School of Life Science in Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) and the vice-director of Space Life Science Section in Applied Science of China Manned Space Engineering, was invited by TMBJ at HKBU to givea speech titled with “The development and perspective in space life scienceresearch in China” on August 24th, 2013.


The China Manned Space Program is a third planed generation modular space station, comparable to the Soviet/Russian Mir, Russian OPSEK and the ISS, which will surely facilitate and promote the space life research in China. Prof. Shang was invited by Prof. AlbertS C Chan, the PVC of HKBU, to visit HKBU and discuss with Prof. Rick WONG (Vice-President and Deanof Graduate School), Prof. Aiping Lu (Dean of SCM and Director of TMBJ), Prof.Zhaoxiang Bian (Associate Vice-President, Associate Director of Institute ofCreativity, Director of Clinical Division) and Prof. Ge Zhang (Deputy Directorof TMBJ), et al. During the discussion, Prof. Shang introduced the current development and perspective in the space life research in China and intended to establish cooperation between the School of Life Science at NPU and TMBJ at HKBU on basicand translational research on bone-related disorder induced by weightlessness in microgravity environment.
