Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases (TMBJ) in Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) invites applications for the ‘Postdoctoral Research Fellow’ position in Histopathology & Bio-imaging Lab’ supervised by TMBJ.


Qualification: Applicants must have a M.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in orthopedics or related biomedical fields, and should have demonstrated a record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals of high international reputation in related fields. Techniques in bone-related histopathology (such as immunohistochemistry), skills in operating bio- imaging facilities (such as microCT) for small animal study, and technology in cellular / molecular study (such RT-PCR / western blot / IP) are required.


Duty: Successful candidates are expected to perform an independent research program within research focus of TMBJ, manageTMBJ’s functional lab (Histopathology & Bio-imaging Lab)and undertake supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students in HKBU. The major duty is to conduct a variety of complex and independent investigations in the planning and development of original research proposal within the overall scope of the TMBJ for funding application. On the other hand, the duty is also defined to design experimental protocols, collect, analyze and report experimental data, and create and maintain accurate and timely records of test results, and assist in the publication of research findings.


Offer: Initial appointment for the successful candidates will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Appointments may be offered ‘Postdoctoral Research Fellow’ upwards at various levels depending on experience and qualification of the candidate.
